Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow, mindful practice where you are guided through long held floor poses (often 3-10 minutes). These are set up so that there is no muscle contraction or usage. It is designed to stress and strengthen the joints, tendons, connective tissue and fascia. Great for those looking to improve joint mobility and flexibility.

This grounding practice will calm your nervous system and leave you feeling nourished and restored.

Props needed: mat, blankets, bolster, blocks, strap.

Slow & Mindful

Yoga Nidra

The ability to relax is essential for physical & mental wellbeing. Now more than ever we need effective techniques that can help us to truly relax to restore our inner balance & experience our true nature.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation technique which relaxes the mind & body completely, as we move from the ‘thinking mind’, to the ‘feeling body’ & into the ‘being state’. It allows for deep rest, deep healing & deep nourishment.

As a practice, it is almost effortless, as the body already, knows exactly what to do, the true test is to remain awake & aware as you practice yoga Nidra.

Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down, supported with bolsters & cushions as is appropriate for you, draped with blankets & eyes covered. You are then ready to settle into the practice of Yoga Nidra, where you will be guided to move your awareness to various bodily sensations, emotions & images.

Some of the Benefits of Yoga Nidra:

  • Reduces Stress

  • Reduces Anxiety

  • Improves Sleep

  • Highly Rejuvenating

  • Releases Rigid Patterns in the Muscles

  • Centers Ones Emotional Energies

  • ‘Memorisation’ of the Relaxation Sensation

  • Connects You to Your True Self

Please see Timetable for upcoming Yoga Nidra courses & workshops.
